The English Disciplines

Are you and your horse safe, consistent, and pretty over fences? Is your horse brave and forward? Can your horse turn fast and jump high? Can your horse gallop over unfamiliar terrain and jump scary stuff with confidence? Is your horse obedient and supple?  Can your horse(s) pull a cart or carriage with skill and style? Can your horse perform beautiful maneuvers with only the subtlest cues? The “English” disciplines rise to some or all of these challenges. Dressage, eventing, combined driving, pleasure driving, saddle seat, quadrille, hunter-jumper…what these sports have in common is a high level of training and fitness…and no pommel to hang on to!
